🌸 Monthi Feast Celebration at Gangel Ward
🌹 Gangel Ward Celebrates Monthi Feast 🌹
The faithful of Gangel Ward joyfully celebrated the Monthi Feast on 13th September 2026 at the residence of Mr. Alban Menezes, Ward Gurkar. Around 70 ward members and guests gathered for the celebration, which was filled with faith, devotion, joy, and fellowship.
The programme began at 6:00 p.m. with a prayer led by Mr. Alban Menezes, seeking God’s blessings through the intercession of Mother Mary. The celebration was graced by Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Stephen Rodrigues, Assistant Parish Priest; and Dn. Shawn Andrade, along with Mr. Pritesh D’Sa, Vice President; Mrs. Jyothi D’Souza, Secretary; and Mrs. Monica D’Souza, Coordinator of the 20 Commissions.
A warm welcome by Mrs Jecintha Dsouza,was followed by a delightful welcome dance by the children. The senior citizens of the ward were felicitated by Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza as a mark of respect and gratitude. Mr. Angel John Martis, former Ward Gurkar, was also honoured for his dedicated 10 years of service. Students who successfully passed their 10th and 12th standard examinations were felicitated and encouraged for their achievements.
Mrs. Smitha Mendonca was master of ceremony and arranged Various games and entertainment programmes added fun and excitement to the celebration. Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Stephen Rodrigues shared inspiring messages on the significance of the Monthi Feast and encouraged everyone to grow in faith, unity, and devotion to Mother Mary.
Mr. Pritesh D’Sa congratulated the winners and appreciated the active participation of all the ward members. The food was lovingly prepared and served by the ward members themselves, reflecting their spirit of unity and service.
The celebration was a beautiful expression of faith, love, gratitude, and fellowship, bringing together people of all generations and strengthening the bonds of the Gangel Ward community.
